Sail form ii
Sail Form II
by Bob Purvis
Bob Purvis is widely acknowledged as a minimalist sculptor and furniture maker. His work in steel can be seen throughout the Northwest region, including the Dennos Museum. Purvis fools the eye with work that precariously overcomes gravity yet dominates in design. “I believe in lines in space, form for its own sake. My work is not representational. It is not about anything. It requires no interpretation. After it pops into my brain I draw the piece. Then I have the pieces cut. Following that I assemble the pieces by welding and fasteners. Then (if necessary) I have the work powder-coated. Finally delivery and installation.” Approximate dimensions and weight: 8’ tall on a 2’ x 2’ base 150 pounds
